Create a Dolibarr local community
This page is dedicated to list the guide line to help local user groups to build their own community around Dolibarr project.
Things required
All following things are required to start to manage a local Dolibarr users' group or community. Please do all of this in same order than povided:
1) You must be a local foundation or user group or a local company.
2) Add you company name or your foundation name to the following pages: List_of_Dolibarr_users
3) If you are a company only: Add your name into the category "Other partners" for your country on the page: List_of_OpenSource_Software_companies_and_freelancers
4) Create an account onto this wiki (link on top right). Then create a page specific with page name that is your personal name (firstname lastname, not your company or foundation name).
For this, once login on this wiki, go on page Laurent_Destailleur and change URL with your own firstname and lastname, and click on button "Create" after submitting new URL. Then, you can make a copy and paste of content of page Laurent_Destailleur and replace content with your own personal information. The goal of this is to have a card inside this wiki, whose goal is to provide information on all Dolibarr actors.
5) The translation for the language of your country should be completed and accurate. If not, this is the next step to work on. So send us translations at contact@dolibarr.org (See also page Translator_documentation to know how to fix the translation manually with the firefox plugin).
6) The default setup provided by last version of Dolibarr must be complete for your country (list of vat rates, list of states). If not, send us SQL requests to have setup complete into Dolibarr sources installer (See all files into htdocs\install\mysql\data, complete them for your country and send them to us at contact@dolibarr.org).
7) Create a dedicated web site for your country called the "Dolibarr XXX portal" where XXX is your country. You can use tool of your choice for that. We recommend however Joomla as it is CMS used for other existing Dolibarr portals. This might be an important work. Once your site is online, you can ask the Dolibarr foundation to make the domain TLD name for your country (if the foundation owns it) to be redirected to your web site (for this, send a mail to contact@dolibarr.org with current URL of your portal and country it was designed for). If domain name for your country is not owned by foundation yet, you can buy it by yourself.
8) Put on top of your "Dolibarr XXX portal", a link with flags to others majors communities (for the moment, link to international web site http://www.dolibarr.org, french portal http://www.dolibarr.fr and spanish portal http://www.dolibarr.es).
9) If you are a foundation only: Install Dolibarr to manage your members and create a generic account for international foundation and sent it to contact@dolibarr.org (you will probably start with only two or three members, we started like this too !).
Once all this step are done, you can work on next chapter.
Things recommanded
This action can be done once all "required action" are complete.
1) Translate the svg file used to create rollups for your language. You can then use it to generated a jpg file to buy a rollup to use into congres, forums, trade show or put it into show rooms.
2) Post a lot of news onto local web sites, magazines for your country (the more you promote Dolibarr, the more you will get new users, so new partners or customers). When such news appears on a major media, tell us (contact@dolibarr.org).
3) It will also be a good thing if you are yourself a member of internationnal Dolibarr foundation. See page Subscribe.
4) When all things into chapter "Things required" are completed, you may also apply to be a Preferred Partner. See Dolibarr Preferred Partner.
