Warehouse Scanner Pro is a mobile-friendly warehouse management and barcode/QR scanning module for Dolibarr.

The module allows warehouse operators to scan products using a smartphone camera, USB barcode scanner or manual input, create stock movements, transfer stock between warehouses, perform saved and resumable inventory counts, receive supplier orders and print product labels.

Warehouse Scanner Pro supports lot and expiry-date management, automatic existing-lot recognition, FEFO lot selection and automatic expiry-date retrieval.

When BatchSafe Pro is installed, Warehouse Scanner Pro can also check lot status before stock operations. Quarantined or blocked lots can be prevented from being shipped or transferred, while released lots can be processed normally.

Authorized warehouse operators can also use the protected Undo Last Movement function for supported stock movements.

Saved inventories

Inventory sessions are saved in the Dolibarr database.

A user can:

  1. Create an inventory for a selected warehouse.
  2. Scan products or enter their references manually.
  3. Count the same product several times.
  4. Save the inventory and continue it later.
  5. Resume the inventory from another device.
  6. Edit or remove counted lines before finalization.
  7. Compare theoretical stock with physically counted stock.
  8. Apply all differences together after final confirmation.

The stock is not modified while the inventory is being counted.

If the stock of a counted product changes before finalization, the module can block the operation to prevent an incorrect adjustment.

Lot and expiry management

Warehouse Scanner Pro supports products managed by lot or batch.

For each lot, the module displays:

  • Lot or serial number
  • Expiry date
  • Current theoretical quantity
  • Physically counted quantity
  • Inventory difference

Several lots of the same product can be counted in one inventory. Each lot is stored and adjusted separately.

The module also supports inventories containing both:

  • Products without lot management
  • Products with lot and expiry management

Supplier order reception

The module provides a mobile-friendly supplier order receipt workflow.

Warehouse operators can:

  • Open a supplier purchase order
  • Scan received products
  • Compare ordered and received quantities
  • Record partial receptions
  • Complete the reception
  • Synchronize the supplier order status
  • Cancel recent scanner-created receptions when permission allows it
  • Export reception reports

Product labels

Warehouse Scanner Pro can generate printable labels containing:

  • Product reference
  • Barcode or QR code
  • Lot number
  • Expiry date

Different label formats can be used for products, packages and warehouse shelves.

Compatibility

Module version Dolibarr PHP
1.0.23 23.x to 24.x 8.0 or newer

Warehouse Scanner Pro 1.0.23 was tested with Dolibarr 23.0.3.

The module is designed for Dolibarr V23–V24 and PHP 8.0 or newer.

Requirements

The following Dolibarr modules must be enabled:

  • Products/Services
  • Stock/Warehouse

For mobile barcode and QR scanning, a modern browser with camera support is required.

HTTPS is recommended when using a smartphone camera because modern browsers generally require a secure connection for camera access.

BatchSafe Pro is optional. Warehouse Scanner Pro can operate independently for standard warehouse operations.

When BatchSafe Pro is installed, additional lot-status controls are available, including:

  • Released / quarantine status detection
  • Blocking of quarantined lots during Remove / Ship operations
  • Blocking of quarantined lots during stock transfers
  • Display of the blocking reason
  • Optional LabQC FAIL / OOS information through BatchSafe integration

Installation

  1. Download the latest Warehouse Scanner Pro ZIP package.
  2. Deploy the package into the Dolibarr custom modules directory.
  3. Verify that the module directory is named warehousescannerpro.
  4. Open Dolibarr module configuration.
  5. Enable Warehouse Scanner Pro.
  6. Configure permissions for the users who will operate the scanner.
  7. Open the Warehouse Scanner Pro menu and select the required operation.

The module is normally installed under:

htdocs/custom/warehousescannerpro/

Existing Warehouse Scanner Pro inventory data and database tables are preserved during an upgrade.

For smartphone camera scanning, use HTTPS and allow camera access in the browser.

Upgrade

To upgrade from an earlier version:

  1. Back up the Dolibarr database and the existing module directory.
  2. Replace the existing warehousescannerpro/ directory with the files from the new version.
  3. Reload the Dolibarr page and clear the browser cache if necessary.
  4. Verify that Warehouse Scanner Pro reports version 1.0.23.
  5. Verify user permissions.
  6. Perform a test scan before returning the module to normal warehouse use.

Disabling and re-enabling the module is normally not required for a minor upgrade unless specifically indicated in the release notes.

Existing saved inventories and module data are preserved during a normal upgrade.
