Social Networks Ads Feedbacks

This page is a feedback report about social networks advertisement campaigns for Dolibarr.

In July 2013, the Dolibarr foundation board has decied to invest 10% of the available amount in treasury at the 1st of january into advertisements (See Report_board_meeting_20130710_teleconf)


Twitter

To optimize amount, adverts were targeting to:

  • Twitter allows to target only US.


Winning 1 follower cost:

For twitter dolibarr account:

  • 10€ / follower

Problem is that twitter promote your account but user must make several clicks to add you as a follower, this make twitter ads completely useless to win followers.

2013: 40€ => 4 followers => Too expensive. We stop after one week.

For twitter dolibarr_france account:

No campaign launched


Twitter campaign was retried few years later on "dolibarr" twitter account. With a price that has become competitive.


Facebook

To optimize amount, adverts were targeting to:

  • Men only
  • Age between 20 and 50
  • Liking IT and business
  • Targeted countries depends on page we want to promote.
  • Policy: Optimize for "More I like"

When you define a target on Facebook, Facebook optimizes diffusion on countries were cost for "I like" is lower. So we split campaign into different countries to define price per country/language

  • 0.04€ / like when targeting Maghreb
  • 0.05€ / like when targeting Gulf countries
  • 0.07€ / like when targeting India
  • 0.75€ / like when targeting Germany
  • 0.95€ / like when targeting US+UK
  • 1.60€ / like when targeting Quebec (language english)
  • 1.60€ / like when targeting Quebec (language french)
  • 0.04€ / like when targeting 25 major countries using "competitors" interest
  • 0.03€ / like when targeting 25 major countries using "open source" interest
  • 0.10€ / like when targeting India+US+UK and using "sponsored actualities"

2013: 500€ => Jump from 600 followers to 10,000

For Facebook dolibarr.fr page

  • 0.60€ / like when targeting French in Europe (France, Belgium, Switzerland) using "software" and "business" interest
  • 0.07€ / like when targeting French in Europe (France, Belgium, Switzerland) using "open source" interest
  • 0.07€ / like when targeting Maghreb
  • 0.07€ / like when targeting Africa

2013: 300€ => Jump from 650 followers to 2,400

For Facebook dolibarr.gr page

  • 0.40€ / like when targeting Greece
  • 0.20€ / like after using the goal to "Cost per Click" with a limit of 0.04 € max per click
  • 1€ / like after using the goal to "Cost per Click" with a limit of 0.04 € max per click and using "open source" interest

2013: 150€ => Jump from 10 followers to 530

For Facebook dolibarr.es page

  • 0.18€ / like when targeting Latino America
  • 0.60€ / like when targeting Spain
  • 0.14€ / like when targeting Latino America + Spain using "open source" interest

2013: 500€ => Jump from 1200 followers to 4000

=> To optimize conversion, we stop ads on target whose amount is >= 0.40€ / like.
