Doli Legal Mention prints on each customer invoice the legal mention its customer requires, such as the VAT exemption of an intra-Community supply or of an export.
Features
One mention per customer, chosen once
On the card of the third party, the field Legal mention? offers the list of the active mentions. You choose the mention once; every customer invoice of that third party then carries it. Leave the field empty for a customer who needs no mention.
Printed under the public note, with every PDF template
When the PDF of a customer invoice is generated, the mention is printed under the public note, as its last lines. Credit notes and down payment invoices follow the same rules. The module changes no PDF template: it works with every template that prints the public note, as the standard templates of Dolibarr do. It was tested with the Sponge and Crabe templates.
The mention is added for the time of the PDF only: the public note saved on the invoice never changes. A PDF already generated keeps what it printed; generate it again to take a new mention or a new text into account.
Only on invoices without VAT, by default
An exemption mention on an invoice that carries VAT would be false. The option Print the mention only on invoices without VAT, on by default, prints the mention only when the invoice carries no VAT: a customer who has a mention but buys a product subject to VAT receives an invoice without mention. Switch it off only if some of your mentions must also appear on taxed invoices.
One text per language
Each mention has one text per language, printed in the language of the third party, the field Default language of its card. Without a text in that language, the module takes the same language of another country (the German of Germany for a customer in Austria), then the main language of Dolibarr. When none of these languages has a text, nothing is printed.
A list you manage yourself
The setup page of the module, reserved to administrators, holds the list: add, modify, translate, disable and delete the mentions. Choose a language and click Refresh to show and edit the texts written in that language. Disabling a mention stops printing it, and the third parties keep their choice: enabled again, the mention is printed again on their next invoices.
Code, label, position and status can also be edited in Setup - Dictionaries, dictionary Legal mentions. The texts are edited in the setup page of the module only.
Deleting a mention still in use
When third parties carry the mention you delete, the confirmation window names them and says what they lose. Once you confirm, the mention is removed from their cards and their next invoices are printed without mention. To stop printing a mention without touching the cards, disable it instead.
A deletion made from the dictionary screen does not warn: the third parties keep a choice that no longer exists. Prefer the setup page of the module to delete a mention.
Two examples to adapt
On its first activation, the module installs two examples taken from French VAT law, with a text in French and in English: UE_PRO, the intra-Community supply to a business whose VAT number was checked on VIES (article 262 ter I of the French General Tax Code), and EXPORT, the export outside the European Union (article 262 I). Each example is offered once: one you deleted does not come back, even after an update, and a text you changed is never overwritten.
The module prints the text you write: the choice and the wording of each mention remain yours, to be checked with your accountant. It checks neither the VAT number nor the country of the customer, and it prints on customer invoices only, not on proposals, orders or supplier invoices.
Installation
- Download the module zip file.
- Log in to Dolibarr as administrator, go to Home - Setup - Modules/Applications, tab Deploy/install external app/module, and upload the zip.
- Activate Doli Legal Mention in the module list.
Activation creates the two tables of the module, adds the field Legal mention? to the third party card and installs the two examples. When upgrading, disable then enable the module again: the mentions, their texts, the choice made on each third party and the option are kept.
Setup
Home - Setup - Modules/Applications, line Doli Legal Mention, setup icon, reserved to administrators:
- the option Print the mention only on invoices without VAT, on by default,
- the list of mentions and their texts, language by language.
The module adds no permission: a user allowed to modify a third party can choose its mention.
