'''ProfitGuard Pro''' is a commercial profitability monitoring and managerial approval module developed by '''PanciucSoft''' for Dolibarr ERP/CRM.

The module helps businesses monitor sales proposal margins, identify profitability risks, detect missing purchase costs, configure margin targets and manage managerial exceptions before proposal validation.

'''Current version:''' 1.0.0 Stable

'''Dolibarr compatibility:''' V23–V24

'''Languages:''' English and Romanian

'''Developer:''' PanciucSoft

==Overview==

ProfitGuard Pro gives sales teams, managers and business owners greater visibility into the profitability of commercial proposals directly within Dolibarr.

Instead of relying only on proposal totals, the module evaluates estimated margins against business-defined targets and identifies proposals that may require additional review.

ProfitGuard Pro also provides a managerial exception workflow, read-only validation preview, optional validation protection and a validation decision log.

==Key Features==

*Sales Margin Dashboard
*Commercial proposal profitability analysis
*Global minimum margin target
*Product category-specific margin targets
*Detection of proposals below target margins
*Identification of missing purchase cost information
*Estimated margin gap calculations
*Proposal and customer filtering
*CSV exports
*Managerial exception requests
*Managerial approval and rejection workflow
*Detection of outdated approvals
*Read-only Validation Preview
*Optional validation protection: OFF, MONITOR and experimental BLOCK

==Sales Margin Dashboard==

The Sales Margin Dashboard provides an overview of proposal profitability and commercial risks.

Authorized users can review analyzed proposals, identify below-target margins, detect missing cost information and prioritize proposals that require attention.

The dashboard includes profitability indicators and filtering options to support commercial monitoring.

==Proposal Risk Assessment==

ProfitGuard Pro analyzes commercial proposals using the available sales and cost information.

The module compares estimated margins against the effective minimum margin targets.

The assessment helps identify:

*Actual estimated margins
*Applicable minimum margin targets
*Below-target proposals
*Missing purchase costs
*Estimated margin gaps
*Commercial cases requiring managerial attention

Accurate cost information is essential for reliable profitability calculations. Missing or incomplete costs should be reviewed before relying on the results.

==Configurable Margin Rules==

Administrators can configure profitability targets according to the company's commercial policies.

Supported settings include:

*Global minimum margin target
*Category-specific margin targets
*Application of the effective target during proposal analysis
*Identification of proposals that do not meet the configured requirements

For example, a company may configure a global margin target of 20% and a category-specific target of 30% for electronics.

These values are examples only and can be customized.

==Managerial Reviews and Approvals==

ProfitGuard Pro includes a structured managerial exception workflow.

When a commercial proposal does not meet the applicable margin target, an authorized sales user can submit an exception request for managerial review.

An authorized manager can evaluate the request and approve or reject the exception.

===Typical Workflow===

#A sales user creates or updates a commercial proposal.
#ProfitGuard Pro evaluates the proposal profitability.
#A profitability risk is identified.
#The sales user submits a managerial exception request.
#An authorized manager reviews the request.
#The manager approves or rejects the exception.
#The decision is retained in the review history.

The workflow is designed to separate sales exception requests from managerial decisions.

===Managerial Approval Detail===

The Managerial Approval Detail page displays the exception request, relevant commercial information, review status and managerial decision.

This allows authorized users to understand the context and outcome of a review.

===Outdated Approvals===

ProfitGuard Pro identifies approvals that have become outdated after relevant proposal or margin rule changes.

For example, a previous approval may no longer be applicable if a proposal's commercial conditions or the effective minimum margin target changes.

Such cases require a new review before the previous exception can be relied upon.

==Validation Preview==

The Validation Preview provides a read-only assessment of commercial proposal validation readiness.

It allows authorized users to inspect:

*Current estimated margins
*Applicable margin targets
*Missing cost information
*Managerial exception status
*Potential validation outcome under the selected mode

The preview does not validate the proposal and does not change its status.

==Optional Validation Protection==

ProfitGuard Pro provides optional validation monitoring and protection for supported native Dolibarr commercial proposal validation operations.

Three modes are available:

{| class="wikitable"
!Mode
!Description
|-
|'''OFF'''
|Validation monitoring and protection are disabled.
|-
|'''MONITOR'''
|Supported validation operations can be evaluated and logged without blocking validation.
|-
|'''BLOCK (experimental)'''
|The module can reject supported trigger-driven validation operations when margin requirements are not met and no valid managerial exception applies.
|}

The optional integration uses the Dolibarr commercial proposal validation trigger '''PROPAL_VALIDATE'''.

'''Important limitation:''' BLOCK mode is experimental and does not provide universal enforcement. API integrations, custom validation operations or code paths that bypass Dolibarr triggers, including operations using
notrigger=1
, may bypass this protection.

The BLOCK feature should not be considered a substitute for comprehensive server-side controls or independent commercial approval procedures.

==Validation Audit Log==

The Validation Audit Log helps authorized users inspect recorded validation decisions from supported execution paths.

Available information may include:

*Commercial proposal reference
*Date and time
*User
*Active validation mode
*Evaluation result
*Validation decision or rejection reason

The module also supports CSV export of the relevant log information.

'''Important:''' The logging mechanism is best-effort and is not an immutable or exhaustive audit trail. Operations that bypass supported hooks may not be recorded.

==User Permissions==

ProfitGuard Pro integrates with Dolibarr user and group permissions.

Access should be assigned according to user responsibilities.

Typical responsibilities include:

*Viewing profitability information
*Monitoring commercial proposals
*Submitting managerial exception requests
*Reviewing and deciding managerial exceptions
*Managing module settings
*Accessing validation decision information

Managerial review permissions should be assigned separately from standard sales responsibilities.

Administrators should verify permissions before deploying the module in a production environment.
